If you want to erase your device completely, then there are a few steps to take.
1.Back up your iPhone using iCloud
Start by backing up your device, here’s how:
- You need connect Wifi
- You openo Settings > iCloud > Backup and ensure that the feature is enabled. To see when the last backup was run look under the Back Up Now option where the date and time should be displayed. If you haven’t done a backup before you can tap the Back Up Now button and follow the instructions.
- Slide “iCloud Backup” to the “On” position. It will turn green. Now your iPhone will back up to your iCloud account when it’s plugged in and connected to a Wi-Fi network.
2.Reset your iPhone
Settings => General => Reset => Erase All Content and Settings
Select “Erase All Content and Settings” and follow the prompts. You’ll be asked to enter your passcode to confirm that you want to proceed. If you have a Restrictions passcode, you’ll need to enter it as well. All of the data on your iOS device will be deleted, but you’ll be able to restore using your iCloud backup.
Wait for your device to reset. Your device will restart and the reset process will begin. The reset process may take 20 minutes or so to complete. You’ll see a progress bar underneath the Apple logo.
During the setup process, you will be asked if you want to restore your phone from backup on iCloud. If you want to add all your old media, data, and applications to your device, please restore it from the backup.
